Today, January 28, marks the 73rd anniversary of the birth of Leonid Kadeniuk, the first and only cosmonaut of independent Ukraine. His flight as part of an international expedition took place in 1997 and lasted 17 days.
In space, Kadeniuk studied the effect of weightlessness on three types of plants: turnips, soybeans, and moss.
To wake up the astronauts on the ship, melodies chosen by the participants themselves are used. Kadeniuk chose the Ukrainian anthem. Therefore, twice during his stay in space, the international crew members woke up to the music of Mykhailo Verbytskyi.
