Renovation work has begun on the facade of the KPI Center for Culture and Arts. It is planned to repair the emergency section of the building's facade, which is decorated with travertine. The tiles had peeled off and threatened the safety of visitors to the CCA.
"We examined the facades of all the buildings on the campus. When we analyzed the CCA building, we found that the tiles on the facade had detached from the wall on the front side," says Vadym Kondratiuk, Vice-Rector for Administrative Work of KPI. "The decoration could have collapsed at any time and injured passersby: students, employees, and event attendees.
With this in mind, the administration decided to dismantle the emergency tiles, restore the plaster screed on the wall, put up a special wall, and then put the decorative travertine back in place.
"In no way will anyone change the architecture and style of the building of the Central Committee of Culture and Arts on Znannya Square," the vice rector emphasized.
We remind you that the Palace of Culture and Arts of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute on Znannia Square is a part of the modern architectural complex of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, which includes the Denysenko Scientific and Technical Library of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
