On December 9, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute held a university-wide Open Day. This KPIabitFest was actually the start of the 2024 admission campaign. According to Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Oleksiy Zhuchenko, it was primarily introductory, as planned, where potential applicants got acquainted with the university's capabilities and representatives of faculties/institutes, departments and research and educational centers.
Certain procedures and rules of admission were explained, although it was not yet possible to explain the specifics of the procedures, as there is no Admission Procedure for 2024 approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
KPIAbitFest was held in a full-time format at the H.I. Denysenko Scientific and Technical Library. About 1300 people gathered together, including registered future applicants, schoolchildren and their parents. There were also guests, representatives of faculties and educational and research institutes, departments and research and educational centers.
Before the speakers started their speeches, everyone could get acquainted with the stands, or as the organizers called them, the locations of the university departments, where their representatives provided visitors with information about specialties and educational programs and answered questions (pictured).
"Today, KPI occupies a prominent place among the best higher education institutions not only in Ukraine but also in Europe. Our university consists of 24 faculties and institutes, 43 specialties, which are trained at Kyiv Polytechnic, more than 150 educational programs of various directions. All educational programs and specialties for which the university is enrolling are accredited, and some of them are accredited by international European agencies," said Oleksiy Zhuchenko, addressing the future applicants and their parents, "In addition, KPI is not only education, but also an opportunity for comprehensive personal development through sports, participation in artistic groups, etc.
The first speaker of the first KPIabitFest for the 2024 admission campaign was Ivan Lukianenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Foundry Production at the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, with a speech entitled "Engineering is a window to the future". Viktoriia Honcharova, Head of the Project Management Office at ETEAM, Vice President for Academic Relations at PMI Ukraine Chapter, spoke on "How to Find Your Role in IT?". The executive secretary of the university's admission committee, Serhii Murakhovskyi, spoke about the main aspects and prospects for admission to Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in 2024.
The final chord of acquaintance with Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was a tour of the campus, which was traditionally conducted by students - members of the Club of Guides.
According to the Department of Educational Work, a kind of continuation of career guidance activities is the weekly live broadcasts of KPIabitTalks on the official page for applicants on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/kpivstup/), where representatives of faculties / research institutes will present and answer questions from everyone.
In the KPI Library, 9 institutes and 15 faculties presented their best and the most interesting programs to future students.
