On November 23, for the twenty-fourth time, the annual International Scientific and Practical Online Conference of Higher Education Students and Young Scientists "Science and Technology of the XXI Century" was held.
This year, the number of participants totaled 375. Among them, in addition to representatives of the National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute", were young researchers from the Cherkasy Institute of Fire Safety named after the Heroes of Chernobyl of the National University of Civil Defense of Ukraine, the National Aviation University, the Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University, the Kruty Military Institute of Telecommunications and Informatization, the Institute of Computer Technology, Automation and Metrology of the National University of Kyiv, and the National University of Kyiv.
The participants of the annual international scientific forum were greeted by the Dean of the Faculty of Linguistics, Head of the Organizing Committee, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Zoya Korneva and Head of the Department of Technical English #2, Co-Chair of the Organizing Committee, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Yuliana Lavrysh.
The conference was also attended by special guests - students of the Faculty of Computer Science at Aarhus University (Denmark) Asger Ullersted Rasmussen and Joachim Brandborg. In their report "Immersive Exploration of Brain Simulation Data", they presented innovative ideas in the field of virtual reality.
Oleksiy Chaly, a student of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, made an interesting presentation on "Information Retrieval as a Way to Search for Common Features in the Text".
The conference included a practical webinar on "The Quality of Sources and Accurate Referencing in Academic Style" prepared by Valentyna Lukyanenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Technical English #2 of the Faculty of Linguistics of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
The participants also worked in 10 sections in the following areas: "Innovations in Engineering", "Chemistry and Chemical Technologies", "Heat Power Engineering", "Energy Technologies", "Electric Power Engineering", "Automation of Electromechanical Systems", "Electronics", "Natural Sciences", "Modern Information Technologies" and "Innovations in Social Sciences".
The breakout sessions addressed important issues in the field of innovation, basic and applied sciences. They discussed the use of artificial intelligence, the impact of technology, and the possibility of using solar panels as an energy source for UAVs. The discussion of Ukraine's new air defense system aroused great interest. The presentations at each section were interesting and relevant, and almost every one of them gave rise to questions and discussions. The abstracts, as well as the reports themselves, were presented in foreign languages (English, French, German, Spanish, Polish). In this way, students demonstrated not only their knowledge of their field but also their knowledge of a foreign language.
The best among the presented student papers were the reports of Nadia Kostenko (FPM) and Vitalii Muzychuk ( FIOT) - I place; Ivanna Dovbysh (PBF) and Oleksii Maksymenko (FIOT) - II place; Kostiantyn Liakhovyi, Oleksandr Petrichenko ( Institute of IAT) and Roman Kolesnyk (FIOT) - III place.
It is planned to hold this conference in the future, because science is an integral part of the educational process of every university student.
