The Association of Industrial Automation Enterprises of Ukraine (APPAU) and the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute organized a forum of technical universities on the Industry 4.0 development in Ukraine. It has already become a tradition to hold it at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
Issues dictated by the large-scale war of the russian federation against Ukraine were discussed within the third joint conference with APPAU "Cooperation of higher education institutions and business in the conditions of Industry 4.0-5.0 and war" on February 7. Beyond all doubt, the main attention was focused on the specific tasks of supporting the economy and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, joint preparation for the realization of industrial recovery projects, innovative development, and issues of personnel training and professional development in these difficult conditions. And the best practices of implementation of the challenges for the entrepreneurial activity development, which united higher education institutions and business representatives, became the cross-cutting theme of the discussion.
Oksana Krukevych (head of the expert group on innovation development of the Science and Innovation Directorate of the Ministry of Education and Science), Vitalii Pasichnyk (Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute), Oleksandr Yurchak (general director of APPAU and UCA chairman) gave key-note speeches. The representative of the Ministry devoted her speech to issues of interaction between science and business. The head of the international BOWI project, Oleksandr Stepanets, supplemented her report with information about ensuring the development of the Digital Innovation Hub (DIH) in the "Center 4.0" at our university.
The participants of the event also had the opportunity to discuss the peculiarities of the functioning of the Lviv Startup School, to familiarize themselves with the AviaCore 4.0 project, which is being implemented at the M.Y. Zhukovskyi National Aerospace University "Kharkiv Aviation Institute". In addition, everyone was interested in the National University "Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic" projects presented by Professor Andrii Karpenko. Of particular note are the components of the strengthening of cooperation between universities and business from the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine. Information about innovative fundraising in the EIF (Export - Internationalization - Fundraising) program, about innovative crowdfunding platform for startups - the StartEra at Lviv Polytechnic National University and the All-Ukrainian Innovation Ecosystem "Sikorsky Challenge Ukraine" at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute allowed nobody to stay indifferent.
Forum participants got acquainted with the activities of the Center 4.0 of the Poltava State Agrarian University, with the initiatives of the EAM Cluster Kharkiv (Engineering, Automation, Machinery), with the development of practical education from the Vinnytsia Instrumentation and Industrial Automation Cluster.
Considerable attention was paid to the development of innovation clusters in regions and industries in 2023, the creation and institutionalization of the DIH-Network, and holding of technology and innovation days.
At the conference, the declarations "On the cooperation of clusters of the Ukrainian Cluster Alliance and Universities in the development of the Ukrainian DIH-Network", "On practice-oriented education", as well as the Memorandum "On cooperation between the Ukrainian Cluster Alliance and the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in the field of dual-purpose technologies" were signed.
And in conclusion, the state of war left an impression on the circumstances of this forum: planned power outages made it necessary to use such an Industry 2.0 product as an electric generator together with the Industry 4.0 product StarLink. Despite the difficulties caused by the war, all scheduled reports and discussions took place by personal attendance, and with the connection of colleagues from other cities via the Internet. And the event itself was a successful continuation of the scientific and practical conferences on the problems of the development of Industry 4.0, held at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in 2019 ("Institutions of higher education - the market: cooperation in the Era of 4.0) and in 2021 ("Society transformation in the conditions of Next Normality and Industry 4.0" ).
