Ancient Chernihiv became one of the symbols of national resistance. Every day they withstands more and more waves of shelling and bombing but do not give up. A huge number of houses has already been destroyed, people die every day. The educational infrastructure of Chernihiv Polytechnic National University, the largest university in the region, has also suffered greatly from shelling and bombing. This university is like a younger brother for Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, as it was established in 1960 on the basis of the General Technical Department of Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. Therefore, ties with it have always been especially warm and strong. Now it is in ruins ...

On March 10, it became known that Pryazovskyi State Technical University was hit by a missile strike in Mariupol, along with a maternity hospital and a children's hospital. It is a reliable partner of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, and one of the important members of the Innovative Ecosystem "Sikorsky Challenge Ukraine" created on the basis of our university.

Sumy National Agrarian University came under fire on the very first day of the war. On February 26, at the other end of Sumy, another educational institution, a college of this university, was shelled. It is noteworthy that in the area where it is located, there is no military facility. And on March 3, one of the most highly rated Ukrainian higher education institutions, Sumy State University, came under missile strike.

During the shelling of Kharkiv, the buildings of the Karazin National University, one of the most famous Ukrainian universities and one of the oldest universities in Eastern Europe, were severely damaged.

On March 4 the rashists fired on the State Tax University, better known as the Tax Academy.

This list goes on.

And these are just universities. Schools and even kindergartens also suffer from bombings and shelling. And their list is much longer. According to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, as of March 22, the russian horde damaged almost 480 educational institutions. 72 of them were completely destroyed by order of a rashist fuhrer blind with hatred for Ukraine and its people. At the same time, human victims do not matter to him. The goal is to deprive Ukraine of the opportunity to educate its children, train its own specialists, and educate citizens devoted to their Motherland. In the end, to cut off from the path taken by the whole civilized world, and to drag into the bosom of the "russian world" (ruskiy mir) smelled of dirty onuchi.

Putin went further than his ideological inspirer Hitler. The one burned books and the other is trying to destroy Ukrainian education! First there was the distortion of historical facts, then the denial of the existence of Ukrainians as a separate people, now - the killing of children and the bombing of educational institutions.

But education is not just about buildings! It is about the desire for knowledge, love for children, it is about ideas, and national spirit, it is about the search for truth. It is about people! And he will never destroy all these! We will rebuild the buildings of universities and schools after the victory. In the meantime, we are accumulating materials for the Hague Tribunal. One of the sites of such work is an interactive map of destroyed and damaged educational institutions, launched by the Ministry of Education and Science.

Occupation troops seize and destroy Ukrainian literature and history textbooks.

The seizure of Ukrainian historical and fiction literature, which does not coincide with the postulates of Kremlin propaganda, has begun in the libraries of the temporarily occupied territories of Luhansk, Donetsk, Chernihiv and Sumy regions. Russian units of the "military police" were involved in this. At this point, in addition to the repressive, they perform so-called "ideological functions". The police are most interested in books on the history of Ukrainian Maidans, ATO / OOS, and the history of Ukrainian liberation struggles.
"Extremist" literature includes school textbooks on Ukrainian history, scientific and popular historical literature. The occupiers have a whole list of names forbidden to be mentioned. Mazepa, Petliura, Bandera, Shukhevych, Chornovil are among them. In the cities of Kreminna, Rubizhne (Luhansk Oblast), Horodnia (Chernihiv Oblast) there are cases of seizure of the book "The Case of Vasyl Stus" by Vakhtang Kipiani.

Found books are confiscated, destroyed on the spot or taken away in an unknown direction.
