Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute is preparing to celebrate its 125th anniversary. The University has already published a list of pre-anniversary events and approved the staff of the Anniversary Advisory Committee on December 3, 2021, at the meeting of the Academic Council. On December 17, 2021, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted Resolution №1892, according to which the anniversary of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute became part of memorable dates celebrated at the state level.
Recently, the first meeting of the Committee was held. The Head was Rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Michael Zgurovsky. During the meeting, the Committee considered the proposals and additions. Mykhailo Ilchenko, Deputy Chairman of the Committee and Chairman of the Academic Council of the University, commented on the results of the meeting to the correspondent of Kyiv Polytechnic:
- The Resolution by the Verkhovna Rada of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science, the National Bank, and other authorities recommended assisting Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in celebrating the 125th anniversary. It is a very essential point in our work. And at today's meeting during the consideration of additions and proposals that appeared after the approval of events dedicated to the anniversary, in particular, supported the implementation of art projects planned to be carried out in the educational direction. Also, the Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada offers an introduction of anniversary postal envelopes and postage stamps by Ukrposhta. Serhiy Manziuk, Vice President of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Alumni Association, spoke about participating in the preparations for the anniversary. The Anniversary Advisory Committee discussed the Association's proposals. This meeting's work will become a basis for the February meeting of the Academic Council. And we will continue to prepare for the 125th anniversary of the University, which we will celebrate in 2023.
