Ihor graduated from the Military Institute of Telecommunications and Informatization of NTUU " Kyiv Polytechnic Institute".
He did military service in commissioned slots: desk officer, watch commander, chief of section of various military units; officer and senior officer of the department of Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
Ihor Shevchenko participated in peacekeeping operations in the Republic of Liberia, and Kosovo.
In July and August 2014, Ihor fought in the east of Ukraine. In January 2015, he voluntarily rotated again to the Anti-Terrorist Operation Zone.
Ihor Shevchenko got killed on February 10, 2015 as a result of the shelling of Kramatorsk airfield by russian militants with the BM-30 Smerch.
Ihor Stanislavovych Shevchenko was awarded the Order For Courage of 3rd degree and another military rank of colonel posthumously.
