Every year on the fourth Saturday of November, we commemorate all those who died from artificially created mass famines in Ukraine, the largest of which was the Holodomor of 1932-1933. Today is its 90th anniversary.
Because of the love of Ukrainians for their native land, the desire for freedom and rights, the communist authorities started a policy of repression and omnicide. In order to "subdue" the freedom-loving Ukrainian people, the leadership of the Communist Party of Ukraine and the government of the USSR introduced the forcible withdrawal of food, and blocked people in the famine-stricken villages and districts.
This year, the commemoration of the Holodomor victims takes place during the full-scale war of russia against Ukraine, when the russians are once again carrying out the genocide of the Ukrainian people. The tragic events of recent months show us all how important it is to remember every victim.
A moment of silence will be announced at 4:00 p.m. in remembrance of all innocent victims of famine.
Everyone can honor the memory of those killed by famine by joining the "Light a candle" campaign and calling on people around the world to join. It is a manifestation of grief for the dead and willingness to make efforts to prevent genocides from happening again.
