Kyiv residents, who left the capital with their children due to the armed aggression of the russian federation, are returning to the capital. It is not surprising that there is a need to restore the work of kindergartens in the city. Some of them have already started working, but they are still not enough. And working parents faced a serious problem - where to leave the child while working.

Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute found a solution to this problem for his employees. At the initiative of the Department of Property and Social Affairs, a survey of more than 100 families was conducted. Its results confirmed that a considerable number of employees of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute really have difficulties with where to leave their children during the working day.
A decision to create a Family Leisure Club for employees' children at the university was made on the basis of this survey. Premises for it were found on the first floor of the University's Art and Culture Center. The club accepts up to 15 children aged 4 to 10 years. In the morning, parents can leave their children with two teachers during the working hours. Parents can also take their child to lunch and feed him in one of the working university canteens, and then return the child to the club, where he will stay until the end of the working day.

"The KPI Alumni Association supports us. It partially financed the creation of the club, - Serhiy Manziuk, the director of the Department of Property and Social Affairs, says, - they also purchased children's chairs, tables, toys, etc. The students' trade union committee helped as well. They provided certain technical equipment, including a TV, for the use of the club during its work.
The club started working on September 1. Parents’ first impressions and reviews are only positive. The children are in care, the teachers are involved with them. Dariia Savchenko, an associate professor at the Department of General Physics and Modelling of Physical Processes of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, mother of four-year-old Nikita, believes that this is a very successful solution to the problem of caring for a child while she and her husband work. "The nearest city kindergarten does not work, and private ones are too expensive for us," Dariia says.
