By the decision of the Committee on State Prizes of Ukraine, the Prize of the President of Ukraine for Young Scientists in 2020 was awarded the work "Scientific and methodological principles of energy-efficient buildings by introducing effective heat supply and thermal protection systems". The team of authors included:  Inna Bilous (Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Kyiv), Oleksandr Nedbailo (the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics NAS Ukraine, Kyiv), Andrii Cheilytko (Zaporizhzhia State Engineering Academy, Zaporizhzhia), Hanna Koshlak (Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, Ivano-Frankivsk).  The Prize has been awarded for outstanding achievements in natural, technical, and human sciences. The results contribute to the further development of science, social progress and affirm the high authority of domestic science in the world.

The research, which results obtained by the team of authors including Inna Bilous,  aims at increasing the level of forecasting and management of consumption, determining energy characteristics, improving the regulatory framework for assessing the energy efficiency of buildings and providing appropriate comfort.  The authors of the work have repeatedly jointly participated in international conferences in Ukraine and Poland, where they became interested in scientific cooperation.  The topic of the research is extremely relevant today. The state is changing legislation and state building codes for the energy efficiency of buildings. Besides, enterprises must meet increasing requirements for microclimate and comfort conditions in facilities.

Inna Yuriivna Bilous works as Associate Professor of the IEE.  She has made a long way from an IEE student to an expert working in the energy efficiency of buildings.  As soon as Inna Bilous received a Master's degree in 2013,  she entered the graduate school of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. In 2019 she submitted her dissertation for the degree of Ph.D. guided by Head of the Department Valerii Deshko.

While still a student, Inna Bilous actively participated in scientific and practical work, performed energy audits of buildings, and wrote articles on energy efficiency.  Today she has 82 publications, including 68 scientific ones (including 7 articles in the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature Scopus), 3 collective monographs, 2 copyright certificates, and 6 textbooks.

Inna Bilous is the head of the science club “Software complexes for modeling energy processes in buildings”.  She actively involves University learners in scientific activities: her trainees' works were awarded a diploma of the second degree at the international competition of student scientific works "Black Sea Science" in 2019 and 2020. Scientific student works under the leadership of Inna Bilous have repeatedly been awarded at national competitions.

Inna Bilous is a scholarship holder of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for young scientists (2018-2020 and 2020-2022), a laureate of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute competition “Young Teacher-Researcher” (2018, 2019).  In 2019 she got to the final of the contest “Women of the Ukrainian Energy Sector” in the nomination “Educator of the Year”.

Associate Professor Inna Bilous conducts active methodological and organizational work. She is also responsible for the student affairs activities of the department. Inna supports the system “Electronic Campus”. Besides, she is a member of the IEE Scholarship Commission.  She is also a member of the organizing committee of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in Energy Management.

The results of her scientific research have implemented into the educational process: she has developed a series of computer workshops in the disciplines “Methods of energy monitoring and energy audit”, “Energy production and distribution systems”, “Methods of energy analysis in heat technologies”, “Energy saving in buildings and structures”.  Under her scientific guidance, bachelors and masters present diploma projects.  In the section “Research Engineering”, students perform modeling of energy consumption of the building in specialized software products with the definition of energy characteristics and analysis of energy, economic and environmental effects of complex thermal modernization of facilities.

Inna Yuriivna Bilous is an extremely purposeful person. For a short time after graduation, she has such high professional achievements. Young researcher has earned credibility and respect among students and colleagues.

The young researcher's lively character and diligence do not allow her to stop at what she has achieved.

We sincerely congratulate the colleague on the deserved win, and wish realization of creative plans and new achievements in teaching and research work!
