On March 15, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was visited by the third President of Ukraine (2005-2010) Viktor Yushchenko and his wife Kateryna Mykhailivna.
The honourable guests were met by the Rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Academician of the NAS of Ukraine Michael Zgurovsky, the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Academician of the NAS of Ukraine Serhii Sydorenko, the Director of the World Data Centre Kostiantyn Yefremov and other university staff.
After laying flowers to the Heavenly Hundred Memorial, the guests got acquainted with the expositions of the State Polytechnic Museum at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and its Department of Aviation and Astronautics. Then there was a visit to the Situation Centre of the University, as well as acquaintance with the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Space Program.
The participants of the meeting discussed the current state of science in Ukraine and its possibilities on the international arena.
"Kyiv Polytechnic is a leading engineering education. This is the flagship that decides the course in the field of education. The potential that in a few years will be realized in practical life not only in Ukraine but also around the world, spreading the glory of our Kyiv engineering school” said the third President of Ukraine.
According to Kateryna Yushchenko, she is extremely interested in the work of the university and hopes that Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute will have the opportunity to cooperate with international higher education institutions. And students and teachers will not leave their homeland, but will see prospects for themselves here in Ukraine…
