Covid summer-2020 restricted a large number of student activities. But Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute representatives Managed to take part in some All-Ukrainian tournaments. In particular, from July 31 to August 7, the 5th International Summer School of Programming was held on the basis of Uzhhorod National University. The work was organized mainly remotely, because the computer rooms of the Faculty of Information Technology of Uzhhorod National University are not designed to accommodate a large number of participants in quarantine restrictions. Only three teams arrived from Lviv: two from Ivan Franko Lviv National University, one from National university “Lviv Polytechnic”.
In summer school Kyiv Polytechnic was represented by two teams from IASA. The coach of both is Iryna Vasylivna Nazarchuk, a senior lecturer at the Department of Mathematical Methods of Systems Analysis. Fourth-year students Roman Zhytar, Ruslan Pravosud and Vladislav Tolstikov played in the first league. This team has repeatedly participated in all-Ukrainian programming competitions. Unfortunately, we did not get to the cohort of winners this time. "They do not have the most brilliant results, but the level there was international," said the coach. A team of newcomers consisting of Ivan Ozernyuk, Yegor Panchenko and Vadym Kosytsky played in the second league. They showed good results and got 2nd place. "The tasks there were also very difficult.” - said I.Nazarchuk later.
