Students of the Department of MAHNV learn to model and design equipment for chemical oil refining and pulp and paper production. During the training they acquire knowledge and practical skills, in particular, in student research centers, where favorable conditions are created for independent creative, educational and scientific work.
Scientific workshop of the department
"Research work of students is a continuation and deepening of the educational process and is organized directly at the department, in research, design and other organizations, in specialized industries, with which cooperation agreements have been concluded," said the head of the MAHNV department prof. Y.M.Korniyenko. "Students who have achieved significant results can be recommended by the scientific and methodological council of the workshop and the department for admission to graduate and postgraduate studies.”
It is supplemented by the head of the student scientific workshop, candidate of technical sciences, senior teacher R.V. Sachok: “We involve students in research activities, participation in scientific and business projects, scientific and practical events and competitions, create conditions for creative growth in the learning process and mastering the profession for future professional activity and career growth.”
In the workshop students compile annotations and abstracts based on materials of domestic and foreign special literature, acquire skills of experimentation and processing of the obtained results, design of equipment of different types and purposes; design and manufacture laboratory installations, write scientific articles based on the results of research, participate in startup competitions and conferences, apply for security documents for intellectual property. This work allows them to raise their rating and the group to receive an additional scholarship fund.
Workshop members created a fuel analyzer
The team of students under the scientific guidance of candidate of technical sciences, senior teacher Y.H.Dvoynos created prototype of the device for measurement and analysis of rheological characteristics (fluidity and deformation under the influence of applied forces - Author) Of fuel and lubricants, which was presented at the startup competition Sikorsky Challenge 2018.
One of the authors, fourth-year student Pavlo Yevzyutin, talks about his development: "The prototype, developed by us in order to identify and select the optimal technological modes of operation of the analyzer, consists of a glass measuring cylinder and an electronic unit. The classic Stokes experiment involves measuring the viscosity of a substance by the rate of deposition of a spherical body. The created prototype of the device measures the time during which the sphere, moving under the action of gravity, passes from one laser beam to another in a substance which viscosity is measured. The error in repeating the experiments is less than 1% ".
"To process the results, a mathematical model and calculation program were created in the MathCad environment, which allows not only to calculate the viscosity of the Newtonian fluid, but also to determine the coefficients for the power model of rheological fluid behaviour, which allows to identify the nature (origin) of the fluid." - added his colleagues, co-authors and classmates Oleg Italyantsev and Valeria Gavrilenko.
The authors of the project independently developed drawings of the housing and frame (2D-cutting of plywood and methacrylate), drawings of mounting housings, lasers and lines of photoresistors (3D-printer), circuit and printed circuit board, which they made themselves. The advantage of the device is that it does not require a computer - all data is displayed. Power supply - household socket or 12 V battery.
Further work of the authors of the project is aimed at the introduction of the device in industry (technical lubricant plant ARIAN) for quality control of oils, software improvement in accordance with DIN 53015 and ISO 12058 and certification of the measuring instrument as official in Ukraine.
