April 22 the 40th International Scientific and Technical Conference IEEE "ELECTRONICS AND NANOTECHNOLOGY" - ELNANO-2020 started on the basis of the Faculty of Electronics of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
The conference is organised by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (a worldwide organisation that has existed for over a century and unites about 400 thousand engineers and researchers from more than 160 countries) and Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in partnership with the American Optical Society OSA ( a professional association of people and companies interested in optics and photonics, it has about 22 thousand members from more than 100 different countries), National Aviation University, V.E. Lashkaryov Institute of Semiconductor Physics and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Scientific and Technological Complex "Institute of Single Crystals" of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
Due to quarantine measures, the conference is held online, i.e in a completely new format for such large-scale scientific events. This brings certain additional conditions for participants, which the organisers announced in advance on the website of the event: if the report is included in the conference program, the authors had to submit not only its thesis but also a presentation file with voice guide. These materials were posted on the website, and during the conference, participants should answer questions from their colleagues from other research organisations and countries.
According to the Chairman of the Program Committee of the Conference, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Yuriy Yakymenko, 185 out of 250 reports were sent to participants for consideration. These reports have already been published in a special edition, which is part of the leading international scientometric databases. Scientists will work in three sections: "Micro- and Nano-electronics", "Biomedical Electronics and Signal Processing" and "Electronic Systems".
"It is very important that students and postgraduates of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute who are studying on these departments, was given the opportunity to register for free to participate in this conference and directly join its work, - said Yuri Yakymenko. "In particular, for FEL students it is an additional opportunity to hear about the achievements and problems of modern electronics directly from the world's leading experts and also to take part in the discussion of the most pressing issues in the industry."
The conference will take place on April 22-24. For more information about the program and its schedule, see on the website: http://elnano.kpi.ua/.
