On November 24-27, 2020, the International Exhibition Centre on Brovarskyi Avenue hosted the largest annual industrial exhibition in Ukraine - the XIX International Industrial Forum. This exhibition is officially certified and approved by UFI – the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, and is included in the list of major world industrial exhibitions. The participants of the exhibition are leading domestic and foreign industrial enterprises and organizations that present the latest industrial technologies, equipment, tools and services.
The International Industrial Forum includes specialized in technologies and equipment for metal‑working, welding, machine‑building, automated process control systems and others.
This year the XII International Specialized Exhibition “KYIV TECHNICAL FAIR – 2020” took place in one of the IEC pavilions (engineering, metallurgy, casting, metalworking, tools, surface treatment technology, compressors, drive equipment, pumps, pipes and valves, filters, non‑metallic industrial materials, diagnostic tools, industrial automation); II International Specialized Exhibition COATING EXPO UA – 2020 (paint coatings and materials, raw materials, equipment and technologies for their production, surface treatment, containers and packaging); XII International Specialized Exhibition Plast Expo UA – 2020 (technologies and equipment for polymers' production and processing) and IV International Specialized Exhibition Addit Expo 3D – 2020 (additive manufacturing and 3D printing technologies, equipment and materials).
For over ten years our University has been a regular participant of the forum and always presented the latest scientific developments, innovative technical solutions, including new technology samples. Participation in a Trade Fair helps find customers, promote developments on the market.
This year, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute has prepared a large exhibition of scientific and technical developments made by the faculty of E.O. Paton Institute of Materials Science and Welding, the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, the Faculty of Radio Engineering, the Institute of Aerospace Technologies, the Faculty of Electric Power Engineering and Automatics, the Faculty of Electronics. Moreover, for the first time our University has presented at the exhibition developments of student engineering clubs.
As a result, the exhibits of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute performed numerous of parts and components obtained using the latest technologies in metal forming, casting, welding, laser processing, 3D printing; a sports car, models of a rocket launcher and a “smart” house, an unmanned aerial vehicle, liquid handling devices, engine test stands, a module for the automatic tracking system of low-orbit satellites for remote sensing of the Earth, etc.
Each technology sample has unique features. For example, a reconnaissance drone developed at the Department of Machine Design can be used for special operations, mine search and radiation reconnaissance. It has a wheeled and tracked chassis, a manipulator and is equipped with a video surveillance system and a connected quadcopter. The quadcopter, a joint development of the IAT (ІАТ) and the FEL (ФЕЛ), can stay in the air for more than a day; carry a video camera and various sensors. The drone can be used for monitoring industrial enterprises or military intelligence. The system of automatic support of low-orbit satellites for remote sensing of the Earth developed by the FRE (РТФ) specialists makes it possible to obtain information from satellites, for example, for the needs of agriculture. Finally, the students of the “Formula Student KPI” science and technology club presented a real Formula SAE race car. Only the engine and wheels are pre-assembled units of the car, the rest of the parts - a frame, a body, a suspension, brakes, etc. were designed and manufactured by the members of the science and technology club.
The Department of Science and Innovation together with the Department of Educational Work with the informational support of the Media Laboratory organized the University's participation at the exhibition. According to Vitaliy Pasichnyk, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, our University exhibit was well-established, which was the result of joint efforts of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute rebranding and new exhibition equipment. What is more, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was the only university in Ukraine to participate in the exhibition.
The Media Laboratory prepared the video of our University at the XIX International Industrial Forum.
