Dear Kyiv engineers, students, lecturers, staff! The new academic year begins today. It has never taken place in empty auditoriums, without the traditional celebration of Kyiv engineers on the Square of Knowledge, without thousands, ten thousands smiling faces of young people who came to the university to build their future.
The COVID-19 pandemic, which shook the whole world, forced us to adjust our lives as well. The enrollment of more than 6 000 first-year students will take place only on September 14th. They will start training in a mixed form, partly in the auditoriums of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute including quarantine requirements, and partly remotely. Second-year and senior students will have to start studying completely remotely.
To provide distance learning and distance work, the university is actively improving it’s own electronic environment: “Electronic Campus of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, platform for distance learning “Sikorsky”, electronic system of document management based on the platform “Megapolis”, other available technologies and tools.
The epidemic situation in the country and at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute will be carefully analyzed on a daily basis, considering the possibility of returning to normal life and work.
Under such conditions, we must be more united than ever, we must overcome difficulties due to professionalism, dedication, wisdom and balance of Kyiv engineers.
Congratulations to you, dear friends, happy Day of Knowledge and the beginning of the New Academic Year!
Rector Michael Zgurovsky
