On October 7, 2020 at the General Assembly session of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, winners of the NASU awards for the best scientific achievements of 2019 were announced.
According to the results of the competition, the Serhii Lebedev Award was given to Academician of the NAS of Ukraine Mykhailo Zgurovsky for his complex work "Creating a platform for systematic analysis and scenario planning of sustainable development of countries and regions of the world as part of human’s life quality and safety."
This award is traditionally given to scientists for outstanding achievements in the field of Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Instrumentation and Creation of Tools and Data Processing Systems and Management (the Department of Computer Science).
On October 8, at the General Assembly session of the Department of Computer Science of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the winner was awarded a diploma.

Academician Serhii Lebedev (1902-1974) was an outstanding scientist in the field of Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. A creator of the first analog computer in continental Europe. He developed the principles of building electronic computers with a program stored in memory, and on this basis created the first domestic digital machine MESM (1950), a series of BESM and other examples of electronic computers.
The Lebedev Awards are presented by the NAS of Ukraine to those scientists who have published the best scientific works, made inventions and discoveries that are important for the development of science and economy of Ukraine.
