Every year the World Economic Forum carry out investigation of gender gap index. Gender inequality is tested by 14 different factors in 4 main spheres during the research: economical participation and career possibilities; level of education; health and life duration ; political rights and possibilities. The index is measured from 0 to 1 where 0 – complete gender inequality and 1 – equality. The meaning of the indeces interpreted as a procent of gap between women and men which allows to match the instant parameters with the previous ones and to learn the progress in the possible sphere. So, the World Gender Gap in the education sphere with inclusion of modern tendencies can be completely equalized in 14 years.
Generally , the world gender gap decreases every year. Just in 2017, first time in the history of calculation of this index ( since 2006) the degradation of the situation with the gender gap was fixed. Upon condition of saving of current trends , the general global gender gap can be equalized in 108 years!
Instantly, the complete gender equality is lost upon any country in the world. The best situation is in the countries of North Europe, especially Island, where the gender gap is equalized up to 85,8% and which, since las year, is still on the first place.
In accordance with the results of 2018, Ukraine takes the 65th place from 149 world countries ( last year – the 61th from 144 countries). In our country the seniority level of women in politics as in the guidance and decision making fields is very low. Though, the amount of women deputies has a tendency to increase , Ukraine is behind the curve from developed European countries in women representation in the Supreme Council of Ukraine, so the question about women quotes is becoming actual again.
The huge gap between women and men is in economics. While analyzing the gender disproportions in 2017 in the elaboration of fake brain , Ukrainian economist Lybov Sharova , noticed: «On the base of cooperation with LinkesIn it was commited that in the whole worls only 22% of specialists in this sphere are women. It increases the level of gender gap until 72%, and last years it is not changing and until now there is no clues to hope on the positive tendency in the future». To conclude , the graduated girls of our university have interesting perspectives. As scientists believe that improvement of situation with gender gap is fraught with serious economical dividend.
