The company headed by famous businessman Sergiy Tygipko creates such a hub in Kyiv. Sergiy`s goal is to organize in Ukraine 3D printing of various details that will be used in different fields: first of all, in the aircraft and space industry, in medicine (production of medical implants).
The 13th of November, Sergiy Tygipko met with the rector of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, academician of NAS of Ukraine M. Zgurovsky and heads and staff of the number of educational and scientific departments of the university to discuss possible cooperation for this project.
According to the participant of the meeting, the head of research part of the university Yuri Sidorenko, during the discussion previous agreements were reached that the design and research will be carried out on the basis of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. For this purpose it is planned to create a special laboratory. The serial production will be located on the territory of the hub.
The participants have also agreed on the training of specialists in the university to work in the field of additive technologies in dual form of studying (in cooperation with the hub). They have also agreed that alternative supplies (metal powders) for 3D printing will be developed at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. The composition of this supplies will depend on the application of the details. They plan to start developing their own 3D printers in the future.
The plans of the organizers of the hub are to bring its products to the Ukrainian and world markets.
