On April 24 the 38th International Scientific and Technical Conference IEEE «ELECTRONICS AND NANOTECHNOLOGY» («ELNANO-2018») began its work at Kyiv National Technical University “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”.
The conference is organized by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers IEEE (the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers – a global organization that has been working for more than a century and unites about 400,000 engineers and researchers from more than 160 countries of the world), the National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, National Aviation University, V.E. Lashkarev Institute of Semiconductor Physics of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Scientific-technological complex "Institute of Single Crystals" of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
This conference is one of the main annual scientific events in the field of electronics and nanotechnology, which gathers leading scientists from many countries of the world, therefore, it is an extremely important event not only for Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, but also for the entire national science.
For many years, the ELNANO conference has been held in Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. According to Yuriy Yakymenko, the first vice-rector of the university, the academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine researchers from 24 countries, including representatives from Brazil, Belarus, the United Kingdom, Armenia, Estonia, India, Iran, Spain, Italy, Korea , Mexico, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, USA, Ukraine, Switzerland and others take part in the conference this year. In total, more than 520 electronics and nanotechnology experts take part in the conference. 189 reports were sent to the conference, but only 141 of them were admitted to the conference after external and internal independent reviewers checked them.
After the grand opening of the conference its plenary meeting took place. Afterwards, the participants worked in three sections - Micro- and Nanoelectronics, Biomedical Electronics and Signal Processing, and Electronic Systems (the working language of the conference is English, so the section titles are in English).
The conference will take two more days. On April 26, it will be completed by two workshops "Hardware acceleration of computations using the Intel FPGA OpenCL technology" and "Discriminatory Correlation Filters and their application to the Visual Object Tracking Task".
