On September 14, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was visited by the representative delegation of the Dongguan city of Guangdong Province of the People's Republic of China. The delegation was headed by the secretary of the Chinese Communist Party's District Committee, chairman of the Dongguan Municipal Council's Standing Committee Liang Weidong, and included secretaries of the Dongguan CPC District Committee, heads of the leading scientific and technological organizations of the district, members of the district government and well-known scholars.
Dongguan is an important economic and industrial center of the People's Republic of China. It lies in the delta of the Pearl River. It is one of the most urbanized regions in the world and one of the main centers of economic growth in China. The population of this city district is about seven million people, many of which work in industrial enterprises and in innovative companies.
Representatives of the Dongguan County met Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute leaders and representatives from a number of its faculties and institutes. Participants in the meeting were Vice-Rector of the University for International Relations, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Serhiy Sydorenko, dean of the welding department Serhiy Fomychov. Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Physics Svitlana Chernega, Deputy Head of the Department of International Cooperation Ksenia Yudkova and others.
After mutual greetings and presentations, the participants of the meeting discussed the issues of establishing cooperation and its most promising directions. The main emphasis was placed on the launch of collaborative research projects involving Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and leading Dongguan District Innovation Centers, primarily created recently at the Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory new materials laboratory. So the conversation concerned, above all, cooperation in the field of materials science and new materials
Finally, the guests visited the hall of the Academic Council of the University, the Museum Square and took a photo to commemorate the monument to Igor Sikorsky.
