On May 18-20, 2018 at the hotel of "Milocin" Reconstruction Complex, near the city of Tšebnica, a seminar on "Economic Cooperation of Poland with Ukraine" was organized by the KPI Graduates' Section in Poland. The seminar was opened by Professor Yanush Fuksa, who congratulated the guests and participants, and then gave the floor to the coordinator of the international department of Poznan Polytechnic Olga Vakhrina. She made a presentation on cooperation between Kyiv and Poznan Polytechnic, illustrating her presentation with photos on the screen. A student from Kyiv Vitaliy Boyko told the audience about his Poznan period of study, which should be completed by the master's diplomas of both universities. Andrzej Mordel, chairman of the Poland-East Cooperation Council, mentioned the history of the movement of graduates of Soviet universities, which began in Wroclaw, presented the work done by the council during recent months, and wished the best to the students of the KPI.
A report on the Ukrainian economy, prepared on the basis of materials from the State Statistical Service of Ukraine, was presented by Zigmund Nicodem. He also noted that already during last two years a considerable improvement is seen in the country's economy. The proof of this is the growth of the gross domestic product of Ukraine, improvement of the results of industry, construction, transport and agriculture, as well as the growth of volumes of export. Yanush Fuksa discussed the results of Polish trade with the overseas countries, including economic cooperation with Ukraine, paying attention to the rapid growth of trade turnover between our countries.
After the seminar, there was held the XIV Congress of Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Graduates. The Section Chairman presented the report for four years. Then he and Olga Vakhrina handed diplomas, signed by the rector of Igor Sikorsky KPI – Mykhailo Zgurovsky – to 13 most active members of the Section. Also, Andriy Mnykh and Evgen Turyk were awarded the silver NOT Honorary Badges. Then, a 12-person section board elections were held. The chairman was again Yanush Fuksa, the first deputy was Pavlo Vekhetsky, deputies were Sylvester Lewytsky and Zigmund Nicodem, secretary was Andriy Mnykh, treasurer Henrik Bukalsky, board members Barbara Borovskaya-Satlava, Veslav Kazana, Ioanna Liaskovska, Tadeush Miksa, Gzhegozh Pasternak and Eugeniush Turyk.
Participants received two brochures from the cycle "Memoirs from Kyiv: A Chronicle of the Quarter of the Century - Replenishment for the period 2014-2018" (volume XXXIII) with a description of the Section and "Chronology - Replenishment for the period 2014-2018" (volume XXXIV) with photos for four years.
On Friday, May 18th, the participants got acquainted with the charming corner among the Tshebnitsa hills. On Saturday, after the meeting, they went to Wroclaw by train, where one group visited the “Hidropolis” Museum of Water, and the other one had a walk from the Tum Island to the Market. At the end of the day, graduates recalled their native institution during a gala dinner, looking through hundreds of common photos on the screen.
