On April 26, 2018 Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was visited by the First and the Third Secretaries of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Ukraine, Zhang Tsiuy and Ye Siaowey.
The guests had a meeting with the vice-rector of international relations correspondent member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Serhiy Sydorenko, the deputy prorector for scientific work Igor Lytvynov, the head of the department of foreign economic activity of the Department of International Cooperation Andriy Shysholin, the director of the Institute of Postgraduate Education of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Inna Maliukova, the Director General of the Science Park "Kyivska Polytechnika" Volodymyr Hnat and others.
"We believe that the development of relations with China is one of the priorities of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in its international activities," said Sergiy Sydorenko at the beginning of the conversation and on behalf of the rector Mikhail Zgurovsky invited the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the People's Republic of China, Duo Wey to visit the university.
Taking into account the fact that the purpose of the visit of representatives of the embassy was to discuss cooperation issues and to familiarize with the activities of the Science Park "Kyivska Polytechnic" and the Innovative Ecosystem "Sikorsky Challenge", Sergiy Sydorenko in addition suggested to discuss mechanisms of cooperation of these institutions with Chinese partners. At the same time he mentioned that according to the decision of the Academic Council of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute the key principles of the organization of joint work on a certain topic with colleagues from any country should be the investment attractiveness of the relevant projects, taking into account the interests of all parties involved, consolidating the intellectual property right to the results of work in equal shares. In conclusion, Sergiy Sydorenko presented guests with written proposals on possible cooperation in some areas.
Volodymyr Hnat gave guests detailed information on the structure, activities and principles of financing of the Science Park "Kyivska Politechnika" and, in general, the entire Innovation System of KPI "Sikorsky Challenge". Inna Maliukova complemented his presentation: she described the Startup School "Sikorsky Challenge", the organization of its work, the creation of a network of similar start-up schools in Ukraine and abroad (they, by the way, use methods and even programs of the “Sikorsky Challenge Startup School ") as well as the significance of such structures for the development of innovative entrepreneurship. Therefore, the further discussion was focused on possible formats for developing cooperation between innovators from Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and representatives of similar structures working in the People's Republic of China. Finally, the participants of the conversation agreed on further meetings with the aim of discussing specific proposals for the organization of joint work and relevant real projects and their potential participants.
