The victory of MMI students at All-Ukrainian Olympiad in Theoretical Mechanics

In March the first university tour of All-Ukrainian Olympiad on theoretical mechanics was held at Igor Sikorsky KPI. The winners were three students of the second year of the mechanics and machine-building institute. After that, they spent one and a half months persistently preparing for the next round of the Olympiad under the guidance of their lecturers - professor O. V. Zbrutsky, associate professors V.F. Kryshtal and T. M. Mozharovska, doing the tasks of subjugated complexity together with the leader of the team professor I.V. Yanchevsky.

The second All-Ukrainian round of Olympiad was held on April 19, 2018 at M. Ostrohradsky Kremenchuk National University. It was attended by 22 students from leading universities of Ukraine. The tasks consisted of three blocks (statics, kinematics and dynamics), with two tasks in each of them. Three hours were given to do the tasks.

According to the results of the Olympiad, the students of our university won the first prizes.

The 1st place was taken by Bohdan Riepin (group MP-61), the 2nd place – by Oleksandr Savchenko (group MP-62-2), the 3rd place – by Oleksandr Dernovy (group MI-61-1).

After the announcement of previous results, the appellate commission worked, but its work did not affect the distribution of seats in the first trinity.
