On December 26, 2017 the meeting of the Academic Council of the University took place.
It began with a greeting of the jubilees: the head of the Department of Mathematical Physics, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor S. Ivasyshen and the head of the Department of Physics of Power Systems, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor A. Khalatov. After that, the rector handed over the certificates of the professor Doctor of Technical Sciences to the Professor V. Mukhin and doctor of technical sciences, Professor I. Parkhomei.
The main issue on the agenda was the report of the first pro-rector Yu. Yakymenko about the concept of the educational process of the third training cycle (PhD). Yu. Yakymenko singled out and characterized educational and scientific components of educational and PhD scientific training, demonstrated an innovative model of training and a structural and logical scheme for the training of applicants for higher education in Doctor of Philosophy degree. In addition, the components of the educational and scientific components of the program for the preparation of doctors of philosophy were named. After consideration of the issue, it was decided to switch to the preparation of the PhD Master’s degree through the structural-logical scheme of the training.
In addition, the results of the first stage of self-analysis of the issuing departments were carefully considered and appropriate decisions were taken on structural and organizational changes in the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. The departments, which fully correspond to the high standards determined at the university, are given a brief period for eliminating the shortcomings and bringing the staff structures and scientific and methodological support into a view of these requirements.
At the end, competitive questions and current issues were considered, in particular, the recommendations of university employees for the election of vacancies to the members of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and recommendations for printing periodical scientific publications of the university.
