By the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 374/2017 of November 18, 2017, the State Prize of Ukraine in Education in 2017 was awarded to Larisa Serhiivna Hloba – the Head of the Department of Information and Telecommunication Networks of Igor Sikorsky National University of Ukraine, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor.

The State Prize of Ukraine in the field of education is the state award of Ukraine, which is awarded to the citizens of Ukraine for outstanding achievements in the field of education in the following nominations: preschool and extracurricular education, general secondary education, higher education; scientific achievements in the field of education.
Annually five State Prizes are awarded, one in each nomination. The award of the State Prize is done by the decree of the President of Ukraine.
Citizens of Ukraine, who are specialists in the field of education, can be nominated for the State Prize. A team of several specialists in the field of education can be nominated for the award of the State Prize for joint achievement. A team nominated for the State Prize, can not exceed ten people.
The nomination of candidates (teams) is carried out from November 1 of the year preceding the year when the State Prize is awarded.
The Committee decides on candidates (teams) for the award of the State Prize by secret voting and shall submit proposals on candidates (teams) for each nomination to the President of Ukraine annually by September 15.
When deciding on candidates (team) to award the State Prize, a member of the Committee has the right to vote for one candidate (team) in each nomination.
The state prize is awarded to a citizen once in a lifetime. The State Prize is not awarded posthumously.
A citizen, awarded with the State Prize, is given the title of the State Prize laureate and gets the Diploma and Honorary Badge of the State Prize laureate. Descriptions of the Diploma and the Honorary Badge of the State Prize laureate are approved by the President of Ukraine.
