On November 6, 2017, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Department of Automation of the Design of Energy Processes and Systems (APEPS) of the Heat and Power Faculty of the National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" and the All-Ukrainian NGO "Ukrainian Federation of Security Industry".
The main objective of the Memorandum is to promote the high quality of the graduates of the department, which must meet the current requirements of the employers market on IT technologies and the security industry, including information provision of physical protection of critical infrastructure objects. This can help in the SBI "USIF" uniting manufacturers, distributors, integrators and installers of security equipment, automation and dispatching of engineering systems, which includes 40 firms from all over Ukraine.
The signing of the Memorandum was preceded by the establishment of teaching and research laboratories at the Department concerning its research and innovation activities; - meetings of representatives of the NGO "USIF" with the students of first – third years to review the activities of the organization with the aim of establishing cooperation, discuss and identify forms of cooperation between the Department and companies-partners of the NGO "USIF".
The Department APEPS was represented by the acting head Alexander Koval, associate Professor Larisa A. Levchenko, associate Professor Artem Mikhailovich Kovalchuk, students in the Department. From SBI "USIF" the event was attended by the President of the NGO "USIF" Anatoly Stepanovich Valley (General Director, OOO "KS-MECHATRONICS") and Mikhail Kamenetsky V. (technical Director, OOO "NTTCS").
The Memorandum was signed at a high-Tech office Ukraina" ("Ukraine Hi Tech Office") in the territory of the innovation Park "UNIT City" in the presence of the Executive Director of "Hi Tech Office Ukraine" Andrei Biryukov.
"Hi Tech Office Ukraine" is a public Union companies operating in the industry of digital technology. The aim of its activity is the creation of favorable conditions for development in Ukraine of innovative business and digital economy. Andriy Biryukov spoke about the work of the union and familiarized the audience with the main ten areas of the application of digital technologies. These are, first of all, SmartCity, 4G-Internet projects and more. He emphasized that the main task for Ukraine is to overcome the digital divide in the European Union.
The basis for this work should become a "Digital adzhenda of Ukraine – 2020" ("Digital agenda of Ukraine – 2020") – a document that was developed by the specialists of "high-Tech office of Ukraine" and the group of experts of world and national leading high-tech market with the assistance and support of the Ministry of economic development and trade of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on informatization and communication and the presidential Administration of Ukraine. It contains a conceptual framework, the principles of Ukraine's development in the digital space. Andriy Biryukov passed this document to O. Koval for familiarization and detailed elaboration for the purpose of further cooperation.
The main part of the meeting was devoted to a detailed discussion of practical issues that have accumulated in the first months since the beginning of cooperation between the department of APEPS and the SBI "UIFB".
The President of the NGO "USIF" A. C. Dollinyi said sequence of actions from the USIF. Consequently, the student will fill out a form on the website USIF, after which you will have to sign an agreement on internships (a period of six months), according to which at least once a week to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge in the office of a partner-company.
In the case of a successful internship, the student, at his request, will have the opportunity to participate in the development of a real project of the partner firm with payment of wages in accordance with its contribution to development. After graduation, the student is provided with work in the event of his integration with the partner firm. If such a graduate goes to another city of Ukraine, where there is a partner company, he is given a job in it.
On the basis of the partner's student can complete assignments, coursework, thesis projects.
Business representatives also pledged to equip the Department APEPS audience 415 case No. 5 (as an audience base USIF) with modern furniture and technical equipment (multimedia projector, whiteboard for presentations), which will ensure the holding of joint events, research, consultations, lectures.
The representative of the USIF, M. V. Kamentsky informed the meeting participants about the possibility of attracting students to research work in the future (5-10 years).
Executive responsibilities the head of the Department APEPS A. V. Koval said that the main problem in the educational process is the lack of funds for providing and updating the material-technical base and drew the attention of representatives of business in the difficult financial situation of students through a significant decrease in the volume of funds allocated by the state for scholarships. The latter makes the students to look for the first available jobs (often not the profile of learning), is therefore very desirable to students during their internships could receive payments in the amount of the state grant.
In addition, from the side of the department, it was suggested, in agreement with the teachers of the department, to enroll students in laboratory, independent work, course papers, diploma papers of the bachelor / master's degree on a certain list of disciplines based on the results of scientific and innovative works, to which they were involved in partner firms.
It was also proposed to identify a teacher who will accompany and co-operate with students who have registered on the site of the UIFB and have signed an internship agreement with the partner firm and will also contact the employee who is undergoing internship with the student.
