The freshman of the engineering and chemical faculty Katerina Bondarenko became the winner of the KPI talent competition in the Painting nomination. Her landscapes, presented at the exhibition, attracted attention to some sort of mystery and hidden content as an unfinished sentence. You cannot look at them with a fleeting glance, running on a break with a sandwich, the work prompts to stop and delve into the world depicted on the paper.
Katerina's student experience is still little, she perceives the events with enthusiasm and happily immerse in a colorful youth environment. “I am studying in the specialty “Automation and computer-integrated technologies”, - says the girl, I like university very much. Of course, it's not easy: new subjects, teachers, but it`s very interesting. Every day I discover something new. The atmosphere in the KPI is inspirational. I am surrounded by creative young people, they constantly invent something, make their dreams and projectsa reality. Having such friends, you do not want to lag behind; you strive to improve yourself, your skills and abilities”.
In addition to studying, Katerina has a variety of hobbies: she does track and field, studied piano playing for 10 years in a music school, and likes to paint with oil paints.
The girl's desire to drawing was accidentally labeled by a professional artist six years ago. He spoke so excitedly and at great length about the secrets of mastery, so, after joint sketches and several master classes, Katerina believed in her abilities and began to create her own canvases, which this year was presented at the “KPI Talents” competition. So indifferent person, endowed with the gift of the artist and the teacher, lit the spark of creativity, the results of which we enjoyed during the exhibition.
The girl readily shared the secrets of her creativity: “I`m often asked by friends and familiars, why did not I go to the artistic high school? What I say is that I paint only when there is an inspiration. Some paintings are created in an hour or a few days, so, for one breath, and others - for months, for example, “Surf” (size 60X80). This picture has been creating for almost three years. I wanted to draw every inch, every detail, so that it seemed to be as “alive” as possible.
There are also curious or magical situations, such as with the “Thunderstorm” (size 40X60). I thought for a long time how to draw it. Finally, I fully imagined how it should look like. I took paints, brushes, and the whole picture was born literally in a few days, but there was no one important detail - lightning. As I did not try - it looked unreal. So I began again and again. One night I had an irresistible urge to finally finish it. And it turned out weird. An unexpected wind blow with a great deal of noise overwhelmed my paintings and all the artistic materials, as if the thunder struck. So on the floor, I finished my painting”.
The student is active in public life, taking part in youth activities, including “Young diplomats of the future”, which took place in the Republic of Poland. “International projects allow us to expand our outlook, improve our English skills, see how people live in other countries, and share experiences with them,” the activist shares.
In the future, Katerina wants to become a successful person and get prestigious work in the IT field. She also wants to travel around the world and discover its diversity.
