March 17, 2016 in sports complex "KPI" a bright holiday was held – the traditional volleyball tournament in memory of outstanding scientist and teacher, a man from a capital letter Mykhaylo Antonovych Pavlovskyy.
We remember his versatile activities in life spheres, not only within the university but the whole Ukraine. How M. A. Pavlovskyy managed to combine the huge volume of scientific, organizational and political activity, was, probably, known just to him. Moreover, he always found the opportunity to play his favorite volleyball and to participate in competitions at various levels. On the playground, he was always showing dedication and passion.
This year at the tournament the memory of famous Ukrainian scientist, the founder of the field "Radiometric Energetics", a public figure, the captain of volleyball team of veterans – Valentyn Andriyovych Yeroshenko was also honored. This wonderful man suddenly passed away in the summer of his life. Valentyn Andriyovych has done a lot for the development of veteran volleyball and for the involvement the University stuff into sports. Its great merit is in preparing the veterans teams of "The KPI-75 +", which became the champions of Ukraine. M. A. Pavlovskyy and V. A. Yeroshenko cooperated not only in science but also on the playground.
In the current tournament some of the best veterans teams of Kyiv took part: "The Cadets" (pictured in black and red uniform), "The Airport", "The KPI-75 +" and "The KPI-65 +".
Before the games started, sports gala parade had been held, opened by the pro-rector of the "KPI" P. O. Kyrychok, the president of the Veterans volleyball Association of Ukraine, the Olympic champion V. T. Ivanov and the head of Kyiv community of volleyball Veterans of Ukraine T. S. Odyntsova.
Although it was a friendly tournament, there was a fierce battle on the playgrounds.
After sport passions subsided a little, the participants organized an evening of memories of past sport events and sport colleagues who passed away. The veterans talked a lot about the necessity of paying more attention to sports and physical education for the current generation to grow up healthy and happy, and that such individuals as M. A. Pavlovskyy and V. A. Yeroshenko can be great examples to bring up decent citizens of Ukraine.
In general, the sporting event turned out really interesting. The assistance, traditionally given to the athletes by the trade union of employees of the "KPI" and its head V. I. Molchanov is worth highlighting. Also, the members of Sports Complex (the head R. V. Brahintsev) always do everything possible to provide good conditions for veterans’ workouts.
