Since the beginning of this year, the students of the Institute of telecommunication systems are back on top. They did not only take the prize places in Kharkov and Odessa universities, but also entered the top three of one of the most important contests of this year – "professionals of the future-2015" from the company "MTS Ukraine". On May 25, the team of NTUU "KPI" in composition of the five participants of ETS submitted project work on the theme of "Technology Introduction IP over DWDM in basic transport network IP\MPLS" and took the third place. The project was aimed at improving the economic efficiency of network technology IP-over-DWDM, which allows to reduce power consumption, operating and capital costs, and to simplify the network design.
Three months the students worked on their project, exploring innovative technologies and modern telecommunication network. Special impetus gave a monthly scholarship from the company "MTS Ukraine" – it was such a nice bonus that encouraged the team to work. Fierce struggle continued for prizes because works were represented by the students of fourth year of 11 the best technical universities of Ukraine. Innovative solutions, new ideas and progressive youth impressed the jury members, all the work were unique and very professional, even some non-standard (one of the teams proposed to save energy through the installation transportation hubs on solar panels). However, I had to choose the winners: 20 members of the jury evaluated the works teams with very strict criteria. First place won the team of the Lviv Polytechnic, which consisted of five guys. The second line took Zaporizhzhya national technical University having a team of five girls. Closed the top three winners team ETS NTUU "KPI".
Was pleasantly surprised by the organization: all was thought to details, buffet helped the students to relax and relieve nervous tension. Participants received valuable prizes: 125 thousand UAH for the I place, tablets and e-books for II and III, relatively. Also the company "Huawei" awarded team NAU with smartphones in the category "Most innovative solution", and Bank "Unison" has given printers to ZNTU team for "Best financial decision."
"Such activities not only stimulate brain activity of student environment, but in general, form the basis and the scientific ground for the further development of the telecommunications industry. Almost all student` work deserve further study. Each report has its own innovations. This competition showed that we have quite a lot of not only smart and ambitious young people, who are ready to further development and creation of new services and all conditions for the further development of our government", – said the member of the jury, Director of the Department of communications NCCIR Ivan Khokhotva.
