September 23, 2014, XXI International Conference on Automatic Control "Automation 2014", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Ukrainian scientist in the field of mechanics and Technical Cybernetics, NAS of Ukraine academician Olexander Ivanovich Kukhtenko, was solemnly opened in the hall of the Academic Council NTUU"KPI".
The conference international program committee includes prominent scientists from Kyiv, Moscow, Donetsk, Odessa, Kharkiv, New York, Mikolaev, Gliwice.
The conference "Automation 2014" is not only international but also interdisciplinary. A list of its organizers is a clear confirmation of it: National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Ukrainian Association of Automatic Control, Institute of Cybernetics of V.M. Glushkov NASU, Space Research Institute of NAS of Ukraine and the SSA of Ukraine, International Research and Training Center of Information Technologies and Systems NAS and MES of Ukraine, National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute", Institute for Applied Systems Analysis NTUU "KPI" and foreign research institutes.
Scientists from different countries sent to a conference about 150 reports.
Academician of NAS of Ukraine, National Representative of Ukraine to the IFAC (International Federation of Automatic Control), chairman of the National Committee of the Ukrainian Association of Automatic Control, honorary director of the Space Research Institute of NAS of Ukraine and SSA Vsevolod Kuntcevich was the head of the conference first plenary session. He reminded the participants that the first conference "Automation" was held also in NTUU "KPI", then still just the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, and for years of conducting it has become one of the leading national scientific events devoted to the problems of automatic control and technical cybernetics. He stressed that this year's conference is dedicated to the memory of the outstanding Ukrainian scientist - Academician Olexander Kukhtenko and shared his memories of him and his work on the world's first "Encyclopedia of Cybernetics."
Rector of NTUU "KPI", director of the Institute for Applied Systems Analysis NTUU "KPI" Academician Michael Zgurovsky told audience about Academician Kukhtenko and his path in science.
"We are honored to host participants of the conference. Especially important for us is that the current, already twenty-first conference "Automation" is dedicated to an outstanding scientist, Academician Olexander Ivanovich Kukhtenko - he said, welcoming the participants. - Olexander Ivanovich was one of the founders of the domestic and world cybernetics. His name is next to the names of Victor Ivanovich Glushkov, Vladimir Sergeyevich Michalevic - people of powerful scientific caliber. For us, the representatives of the Institute for Applied Systems Analysis NTUU"KPI" is particularly important the interdisciplinary research, which they started in Ukraine. The concept, formulated by Olexander Ivanovich, is a base of this research. "
After the speeches, dedicated to the memory of academician O.I.Mihalevich, the Acting Academician-Secretary of the Department of Informatics of the NASU, Director of the Institute of Software Systems of NASU Academician Philip Andon has read the solemn congratulation on behalf of the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Boris Paton to the conference participants. The official part of the conference first plenary session by the film about the academician Olexander Kukhtenko.
The following four days the participants will work on such sections: "Mathematical problems of control, optimization and game theory", "Control and identification under uncertainty", "Mathematical Control in Technical Systems", "Control of aerospace, marine and other moving objects "," Information processing in complex systems, intelligent modeling and control ",
" Functioning of complex systems with uncertainties and multifactorial risk "," Automation of control process of technological objects "and" Training in the field of control, automation and information technology."
The conference will end on Friday, September 26.
For reference. Olexander Ivanovich Kukhtenko (11.04.1914 - 18.12.1994) - an outstanding scientist in the field of Mechanics and Technical Cybernetics, Academic of the Academy of Sciences USSR. Works of Olexander Ivanovich were dedicated to problems of analytical mechanics, control theory (the theory of invariance and its technical applications), systems theory (building the foundations of an axiomatic theory of dynamical control systems) and its applications in the field of construction of complex technical control systems. He graduated from Donetsk Industrial Institute, where he worked until 1941, then worked at the Institute of Mining Mechanics, Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR, Kyiv Institute of Civil Aviation Engineers, Institute of Cybernetics. He worked closely with the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. With the direct participation of Academician Kukhtenko, the Research Institute for Interdisciplinary Research , which became the base for the creation of well-known educational and scientific complex "Institute for Applied Systems Analysis," NTUU "KPI" in the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and Ministry of Education and science of Ukraine, was founded in 1990 on the base of research sector of the KPI Department of Mathematical Methods of Systems Analysis. O.I.Kuhtenko was awarded the title "Honored Scientist of the RSFSR" and two State Prizes of Ukraine in the field of science and technology. He was the initiator of creation and one of the sponsors of the world's first "Encyclopedia of Cybernetics."
