On May 28, 2014 the Hall of Academic Council NTUU “KPI” hosted seminar on "Innovations in Ukraine: Lessons and recommendations for research and educational leadership in Ukraine".
The seminar was organized by National Technical University of Ukraine "Kiev Polytechnic Institute" and Ukrainian Scientific and Technological Centre with the support of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, the Ministry of Science and Education of Ukraine, Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Institute of Intellectual Property and Law in Kiev, Training Center "Mediation in technology transfer" of NTUU "KPI", Kiev Institute of Physics and Technology Transfer Center.
Students, teachers, university professors, scientists, project managers, laboratory managers, entrepreneurs, owners of small and medium-sized businesses, investors and all those interested in improving the innovation climate and ecosystems of universities, institutes and businesses in Ukraine participated in the seminar.
The opening ceremony started with welcome speeches by the Deputy Executive Director of STCU (USA) Victor Korsun, Rector of NTUU "KPI", NAS academician Michael Zgurovsky, an employee of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, Christopher Smith, vice president of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Anton Naumovets and CEO of STCU Curtis Belayach.
In accordance with the program the participants had the chance to listen to the representative of the Institute of Intellectual Property and Law in Kiev Pavel Tsybulev, director of the Center for Technology Transfer of Institute of Physics Yelena Fesenko, director of "Mediation in Technology Transfer" program at NTUU "KPI" Inna Malyukova.
Deputy Executive Director of STCU Victor Korsun presented the lecture on "Lessons and recommendations for research and educational leadership in Ukraine", which dealt with a wide range of topics: technology transfer in Ukraine; connection of science and business; organization of startups and wall offs in Ukraine; Strategic Development; commercialization of business plans research and development, etc.
Within the framework of event, everyone had the chance to have a tour around small and medium high-tech enterprises in Kiev.
