International scientific-technical and educational conference "Energy management: state and development prospects - PEMS'14" was held in the NTUU"KPI" from 27 to 29 May 2014. The initiative was started by Academician-Secretary of the Department of Physical and Technical Problems of Power Engineering, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Honorary Doctor of NTUU"KPI" B.S.Stogny, Academician of NAS of Ukraine, Vice-Rector "KPI" Y.I. Yakymenko, Academician of National Academy of Sciences Ukraine, Director of the Institute of Electrodynamics of NASU O.V.Kirilenko.
The conference was held with the support of Ministery of Education and Science of Ukraine, Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine, Ministry of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine, the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine, the National Electricity Regulatory Commission and the German Society of international cooperation (GIZ) GmbH. The informative book "Industrial power engineering and electrical engineering" was the information partner of the conference.
Plenary session of the conference was opened by Vice-Rector NTUU"KPI" NASU academician M.Yu.Ilchenko, who congratulated the participants to the conference and wished success and creative achievements. M.Yu.Ilchenko noted that the conduct of such research activities is extremely important task, since it allows to find new solutions to problems of energy efficiency and energy conservation in sectors of the national economy, work together to address the pressing problems of their practical application at the present stage of development of UPS of Ukraine, to realize the potential of scientific research of domestic and foreign scientists .
On behalf of the Program Committee of the conference the Director of the Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management NTUU"KPI" prof. S.P.Denisyuk congratulated the participants and noted that the implementation of an energy management system requires an integrated (sistematic) approach to this issue with the optimum combination of components such as monitoring and control. In his report, he has focused a particular attention on the development and implementation of energy management systems in enterprises and organizations of Ukraine in accordance with the requirements of ISO 50001: 2011 "Energy management systems - Requirements with guidance for use".
The plenary sessions of the conference were attended by leading domestic and foreign scholars, representatives of energy companies (LLC "DTEK" SE NPC "Ukrenergo", PJSC "Centrenergo", PJSC "Kyivenergo" Gosenergonadzor, PJSC "Ukrhydroenergo"), representatives of public authorities (Ministry of Energy and coal Industry of Ukraine, NERC, KSCA, Derzhenergoefektivnist) and foreign organizations (GIZ, UNIDO).
On the first day of the conference there was also teaching and methodical seminar on the methodology of establishing the content of the learning process in the field of energy management, problem solving and further development of the quality of training of energy managers in the context of the Bologna process, the problems of a new generation of standards for higher education and the use of modern educational and laboratory equipment for providing fundamental and professional and practical training of energy managers. Heads of departments, deans and directors of faculties / institutes of leading Ukrainian universities were participants of this workshop.
The next day, May 28, the work of the conference was continued in two sections. In the first section of the "Energy Management" presentations on general management, establishment and operation of energy management systems, as well as the management of consumption and use of energy resources, both at the state level and at the level of individual enterprises, organizations or institutions were held and discussed. Reports of the second section "Innovative methods and technologies to improve energy efficiency" were devoted to the technical and technological aspects of energy management, in particular the methods and means to improve the efficiency of fuel and energy resources in social production, budgetary and communal areas.
Full day conference ended by solemn Academy on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Law of Ukraine "On Energy Saving", which discussed the results and problems of the existing legislation in the field of energy conservation, development of a better regulatory framework of energy efficiency in Ukraine, as well as the creation of a technological platform "energy efficiency of Ukraine" as a technological basis for implementation of the "Agenda" for the "Roadmap energy of Ukraine."
In general, the I International Scientific-technical and educational conference "Energy management: state and development prospects - PEMS'14" was productive and fruitful. After debate and discussion of papers and reports, share experiences, opinions and analysis processes, problems and prospects of the development of energy management conference participants were given the opportunity to work out and adopt the recommendations that could be used for the further development of energy management systems in various branches of economy of Ukraine . Submitted reports have shown a high level of research of our scientists and willingness to cooperate with foreign experts in the field of energy conservation and efficiency.
Participants noted the timeliness and relevance of the theme of the conference, a high level of organization, and the organizing committee - a common interest in holding such forums annually. The organizers are grateful to National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, NTUU "KPI", Institute of Electrodynamics of NAS of Ukraine and the Science Park "Kyiv Polytechnic", all the speakers and participants.
