In the State Polytechnic Museum at NTUU "KPI" was open championship of Ukraine of ship sport in the classes of models stand copies.
For a few days in the great hall of the museum exhibited models of seagoing vessels of different ages and years. There were ancient galleys and modern missile launches; cruisers whose names forever recorded in the pages of history, and the first steam sailing ships; Viking’s Drakkar and submarines - all more than 80 models. The geography of the championship is very wide - they came to Kyiv from Donetsk, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kirovohrad, Khmelnytsky, Volyn, and other cities and regions of Ukraine. Of course, citizens of Kyiv presented their work at the championship too. The age range of the developers was wide: the youngest of them was only 12 years old, the oldest - 75! The competition was held among adults and juniors, so the authors of models were as talented beginners and topped numerous awards master of sports of international class.
As the deputy chief justice of the championship, the president of Ship Sports of Ukraine Sergey Demidenko reported, this sporting event was planned in Sevastopol, but due to political circumstances it was moved to Kyiv and the National Polytechnic Museum at NTU "KPI" not only provided for a space, but also co-organized the.

During the all days, lasted until the competition, the judges evaluated the conformity of models for their prototypes from drawings, photographs, descriptions, and other materials (including archives) in real ships; completeness of reproduction parts, rigging, coloring, quality of production models, etc. - all in five groups of criteria defined by the rules of the International Federation of Ship sport. Jury summed the results of Championship on April 7, in Memorial Day for submariners. This year, the day coincided in time with the 25th anniversary of the death of the submarine "Komsomolets", so the championship among the organizers who, incidentally, was the All-Ukrainian Association and veteran divers, was dedicated to those who have always remained in the waters of the oceans. Chief Judge of championship Igor Akimov awarded with medals and diplomas awarded best participants and with the cups the winning team. The best of them recognized team of Kyiv, the second embraced sportsmen from Donetsk, third – team from Nikolaev.
