On February, 10 in the hall of the Academic Council "KPI" a ceremony of presenting a diploma "Honorary Doctor of NTUU “KPI ", the mantle to a scientist, Academician-Secretary of the Department of Physical and Technical Problems of Power Engineering National Academy of Sciences Professor Borys Sergiyovych Stogniy was held.
The solemn meeting of the Academic Council was attended by not only its members, but also scientists, graduate students and university students. This is quite understandable: the scientific and pedagogical work by Borys Stogniy was closely connected with NTUU "KPI". Actually, his way of science began with the Kiev Polytechnic Institute, from which he graduated in 1959. But after graduation he never broke up with the university.

Boris Stogniy personally successfully cooperated with "KPI". And he generously shares knowledge with today's university students as a Professor of the Faculty of automation of power systems and electronics leading researcher in the target training "KPI" at NAS. One result of the fruitful cooperation between the team of scientists led by Boris Stogney and "KPI" became a scientific work "Monitoring and diagnosing electricity systems on the basis of hardware-software complexes "Re-hina," which in 2010 was awarded the State Prize of Ukraine in science and technology. Among the winners of this award there is the Dean FEA prof. Alexander S. Yandulsky. Currently, under the leadership of Boris Sergeyevich NAS and "KPI" successfully developed a promising new scientific direction - development of theoretical foundations, principles and methods of upgrading the Ukrainian energy sector on the basis of concept of Smart Grid.
Academician Boris Stogniy is also the founder and leader of the national scientific schools for the creation and development of automated and automated systems and operational process management in the electricity sector. The results of his research activities are reflected in more than 400 publications, including 15 books and 36 inventions and patents.
