Water: how not to pollute, not clean - a definite conclusion made by high school students in their works submitted to the contest "Ukrainian Youth Water Prize", the final of which was held on 9-12 April 2013 at NTUU KPI at the Chemical Engineering Department. The main objective of the competition is to attract more children to solving problems of water pollution, lack of drinking water, its rational use.
As we know, the United Nations declared 2013 to be the International Year of Water Cooperation. The problem of providing the population with clean water is being solved by youth researchers - the contestants. In numerous studies they offer simple solutions that are available to each of us.
For example, young researchers concluded that the placement of reserves and protected areas of the rivers is the most efficient, economically effective mean. Among the cheapest measures is the awareness-campaign work. Given the current disastrous state of water resources, young researchers propose original technical solutions for efficient use of water and methods of treatment.
Competition "national junior water prize" is a National Stage of International Competition "Stockholm Junior Water Prize", which is held annually in Stockholm. Ninth consecutive year Ukraine is a participant of this prestigious competition . In our country, it is held by the publishing "EKOinform”.
International Competition is held as part of World Water Week in Stockholm. Here the awards are - "Stockholm Water Prize" (Stockholm Water Prize) - for the best scientific development, "youth Stockholm Water Prize" (Stockholm Junior Water Prize, SJWP) - for the best youth project and "Stockholm industrial water reward" (Stockholm Industry Water Award) - for the most efficient use of water in industry. This is the most prestigious international competitions in the preservation of the aquatic environment.
In our country, the competition is held under the patronage of the Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in cooperation with the Chemical Engineering Department "KPI", National ecological center of Ukraine, the Ukrainian water company "WaterNet" GP "Research and design Institute of Municipal Economy" CE "Water Information Center" and JSC "AK" Kyivvodokanal ".
General Partner of the Contest is representation of "DOW Europe" GmbH, which has been working in Ukraine for about 15 years and is known worldwide with its development of innovative technologies and environmentally friendly materials. The partners of the competition is also a leading company in the field of water treatment and purification SPA "ECOSOFT" and importer of equipment for water and wastewater company "Santehplast"
Grand Prix was taken by the work "autonomous device for protection of water from the fish killing" by Zenoviya Shvayka (Lviv);
Second place was awarded to the work "wave power" by Michael Litovchenko (Dnepropetrovsk);
Third place was taken by the work "micro-hydro project with hydraulic piezoceramic generator" Annie Mulyarchuk (p. Dzvynyachka, Borshchiv district, Ternopil region).
Company "DOW Europe" GmbH awarded work, " Experimental study of influence of the shape and material of the electrode on the intensity of the flow process of electrolysis in the energy system of the power plant " by Victor Kurylenko (Krivoy Rog) with a visit to the research center of the DOW water in Tarragona (Spain ).

"Forced mini powerhouse " authors Basil turbines and village Aliyev (p. Mezhvodnoe , the Black Sea region, the Crimea );
