On May 15, VI-th International Antarctic Conference "Internationalization of Research in Antarctica – the path to spiritual unity of mankind" started in the Scientific and Technical Library of NTUU "KPI". The conference was dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of academician V.I. Vernadsky – the first president of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
The conference was organized by the National Antarctic Scientific Center and the State Agency on Science, Innovations and Informatization of Ukraine.
The conference began with a plenary session which was opened by Rector of NTUU "KPI", a member of NAS of Ukraine Michael Zgurovsky and Vice President of the NAS of Ukraine Anton Naumovets, and will be realised in the following sections: "Sciences of Life" (biological, medical and physiological studies and other related disciplines); "Earth Sciences" (geological and geophysical, geoecological studies and other related disciplines); "Physical sciences" (hydrometeorological, oceanographic, geocosmic studies and other related disciplines); "New technologies and equipment" (automated control systems, geographic information technologies and telecommunication systems); "Medical and physiological studies". In general, it is planned to hold plenary, sectional and poster sessions during the conference.
