Among the memorable and significant dates of our people is one, that cannot revoke the decree, or delete from memory, you cannot forget to jam current existence. This is 9 May , Victory Day.

On this day we remember the victims whose tragic fate has become a symbol of courage, selfless service to his people, high civil burning congratulate and commemorate the memory of respect and love to all who struggle for their front and guerrillas, underground and work in behind victory approached, share the grief and pain of severe and bitter years with those who remained in their homeland during the Nazi occupation.

Our alma mater has own heroes - sons and daughters - students, faculty, who in the turbulent  period 1941-1945 Great Patriotic War in defense of the Fatherland. Let us remember and honor this sacred day fallen and bow our heads to the living.

A significant contribution to the defeat of the Nazi aggressor during  the World War II partisans and underground fighters did. Among them were students of the Kiev Polytechnic Institute, student of mechanical faculty Arseniy Vychehzhanin (partisan unit named. Khrushchev), a student of Theodore Riznychenko (Chelm underground organization Chernihiv region), student of the Faculty of heating Margarita Nikitina, a student radio engineering faculty Valentine Balytska.

On the last two I want to tell more detail. Two partisans, both students of the Kiev Industrial Institute voluntarily went to the Red Army without completing training, and became students of special schools Ukrainian Staff guerrilla movement (USHPR) to prepare to work behind enemy lines to perform their duty to the Motherland.

Margaret A. Nikitina was born in May 1921 in Fastiv, Kyiv region. In 1938 she graduated from school in the village Vorzel (in Kyiv) and entered Kyiv Industrial Institute. In year 1936 in the Komsomol she was the Pioneer, the editor of the wall newspaper, agitator. In 1938-42 she worked as a draftperson and in 1942 work in her specialization as technician "Steam engines Steam-power installations, industrial use of thermal energy. She spoke German  . In 1941 with the Institute evacuated to Tashkent, where she graduated from 5 courses and pass the state exams. In October 1942, interrupted diploma design and arrived to Moscow in order USHPR. In his autobiography, on April 14, 1943 wrote with regret that arrived in Moscow and lives in Tchernyshevskiy barracks, as time goes by ... it is not at war. More about her desire to said application head USHPR on April 14, 1943 as follows: "I'm probably send me to work in the rear of the enemy. I want to participate in the great cause of struggle against the German invaders. I promise to be selfless and against the enemy merciless" .
