On November 15, 2012 leaders of NTUU "KPI" and Science Park "Kyiv Polytechnic” held a meeting with representatives of the Embassy of the United States of America in Ukraine Mr. Eric A. Johnson, Counselor for Public Affairs, and Ms. Vera Ternovska, an Academic Affairs Specialist. In the meeting Executive Director of the Science and Technology Center in Ukraine (STCU), Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Michael Einik and Senior Deputy Director Mr. Igor Lytvynov took part.
Guests got acquainted with a new initiative “Ukrainian Festival of Innovative Projects” organized by the National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" and the Science Park "Kyiv Polytechnic” in collaboration with STCU.
At the meeting the possibility of political and financial support from the U.S. Embassy for the new project of KPI was discussed.
For information: The Ukrainian Festival of Innovative Projects is held annually at the Science Park "Kyiv Polytechnic". In 2012 it is conducted from May 20 to December 12.
The main objectives of the Festival are to promote innovative activity in Ukraine, to encourage young scholars and technology entrepreneurs to participate in research, design and construction activities, to stimulate scientific inventors, to initiate creation of information database on the results of commercial research activities of scientific community, which can be further used by Science park in design of its activities as well as to raise scientific prestige of Ukraine in the world.
The Festival encourages participation of students, graduate students, researches and staff of higher education and research institutions and others, who should submit their independently prepared scientific projects that must have theoretical (research) and practical business nature (discovery, invention, utility model).
The winners will get a chance to participate in training programs at NTUU “KPI” and STCU aimed at enhancement of their skills for effective projects presentation to potential investors. Besides, the winners will be awarded diplomas of the Ukrainian Festival of Innovative Projects.
