Last week Ukraine celebrated the 70th anniversary of Kiev liberation from nazi aggressors. On November 6, 1943, after bloody fights during September-November, the capital of Ukraine was released from invaders by the first Ukrainian front.
Workers, students of National Technical University of Ukraine "The Kiev Polytechnical Iinstitute" also joined the social action in honor of a memorial.

On November 5 in a conference hall of library was held the meeting of students and the workers of university with veterans.
The chairman of the University Veterans Board, the colonel in resignation Yury Vasilyevich Nesterenko told about prerequisites, organization and the passage of Kiev offensive operation. In particular he noted that 45 polytechnicians participated in fights for release of Ukrainian capital, among them is Vladimir Vasilyevich Hilchevsky who after mobilization by a field military registration and enlistment office participated in fights on the Lyutezhsky base.
The participant of the Great Patriotic War, the vice-chairman of Veterans’ Council of the Solomensky district in Kiev, Karl Ivanovich Zimny shared with his memories about military events and mentioned about the high level of youth patriotism in fights for Homeland release.
The OSOU vice-chairman of University, the lieutenant colonel in resignation Alexander Vasilyevich Shcherban told about heroic feats of soldiers-liberators.
The chief librarian Irina Bulakh announced selections of memoirs, documentary and the fiction literature devoted to Kiev liberation.
On November 6, flower-laying to the Monument devoted to students, teachers and workers of KPI, who passed away in the years of War. At 12:05 polytechnicians honored memory of soldiers - liberators moment of silence.
Part in actions was taken by representatives of the University management, the trade-union and veteran organizations, teachers, employees and students.
