About Us

The objective of the Centre creation is provision of expert, technical and institutional basis for introduction of the UNIDO methodology of resource efficient and cleaner production on small and medium-sized enterprises. This activity became even more urgent after signing of the Agreement on Free Trade Zone between Ukraine and EC as the state committed to comply with EC standards on resource and energy efficiency.

Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production Centre opened in Ukraine in 2013 with support of Ministry of Economic development and Trade of Ukraine in the frame of the UNIDO program. The Centre was founded by the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”.state committed to comply with EC standards on resource and energy efficiency.

The Centre offers services to companies, striving to assure compliance of their production processes with the requirements of national and international quality standards and ecological safety. Consulting and engineering support provided by the Centre allows increasing resource efficiency, reducing impact on the environment, promoting attractiveness of the Ukrainian companies for the investors, thus enhancing their competitiveness.

Cooperation with the Centre provides the companies with the opportunity to conduct comprehensive technical audit of their operational process.

Cooperation with the Centre in the frame of the project makes it possible for the companies to:

  1. establish a team of professionals that consciously and purposefully using UNIDO methodology at different levels of production;
  2. master preparation of the balance sheet of material and energy resources to identify and assess potential losses at different stages of technological process;
  3. calculate the explicit and implicit losses / cost of operational process and evaluate the effectiveness of the equipment and the development potential of the company;
  4. conduct special measurements, analyze operating regimes and condition of company equipment for preparation of material and energy balances;
  5. develop options to enhance energy and resource efficiency for of technical and technological problems different complexity;
    raise awareness of staff on simple and effective methods to reduce production costs;
  6. receive concessional financing for the implementation of resource-efficient technologies and equipment.

The Centre team is composed of 40 highly qualified technical professionals, who provided practical recommendations on optimization of technological processes at 31 companies in 2013-2014. Work of the Centre allowed saving of 4 335 000 EURO due to reduction of raw material consumption by 4 418 t/year, reduction of water consumption by 301 969,6 m3/year, reduction of energy consumption by 49 955,6 MWh/year, reduction of CO2 emissions by 7 966,3 t/year.
