Sigorsky Vitaly - an outstanding scientist, teacher, professor of physical and biomedical electronics, Ph.D., Honored Worker of Science and Technology, Professor Emeritus NTUU "KPI", a veteran of the Great Patriotic War.
Vitaly Sigorsky was born in 1922. He graduated from Lviv Polytechnic Institute in 1949, PhD thesis defended in 1952, a doctorate - in 1959. His labor activity V.Sigorsky began as the graduate student assistant Lviv Polytechnic Institute (1949-1953 years). In the years 1953-1959 he was Deputy Director of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Automation and Electrometry, Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences. More than 40 years of his life are linked to the KPI, where he has worked since 1964 as head of a number of departments, professor.
V,Sigorsky is the founder in 1974 of the Department of Theoretical Electronics Faculty of Electronic Engineering, which was later renamed the Department of "Physical and biomedical electronics." Professor V. Sigorsky created a scientific school in the field of electric circuit theory and information systems CAD. He was interested in the theory and mathematical modeling of electrical circuits, the development of methods of computer design technology. The main scientific results of Professor Sigorsky includes the development of the theory and algorithms for the analysis of transistor circuits, theory and synthesis of multi-valued elements and structures of discrete technology, adaptation problem as a way to increase efficiency and intellectualization of computer-aided design. He prepared 30 candidates and 10 doctors. He has published 375 scientific papers, including 20 monographs and textbooks, among which (alone or in collaboration): "The general theory of the four-pole" (translated in Venice), "Analysis of electrical circuits with multi-component", "The analysis of electronic circuits" ( translated in Czechoslovakia, Poland, Hungary), "Multi-valued discrete elements of art", "Algorithms for the analysis of electronic circuits" (translated in the US), "The mathematical apparatus engineer", "Modeling of electronic circuits."
In the 70-80-ies of the last century V.Sigorsky was the developer of the concept and initiator of the implementation of general engineering training at the Faculty of Electronic Engineering, provides for 3.5 years of a single base level of e-learning for students of all specialties of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering. Under his leadership, new programs engineering disciplines have been established, there was carried out their coordination with each other and with the general disciplines, there was created methodological support, a number of educational laboratories. Professor V. Sigorsky also initiated the widespread use of teaching aids.
Almost 25 years he was the editor of scientific and technical collection "Computer-aided design in electronics" (Publisher "Technology"). For 27 consecutive years the International Conference "Modern Problems of electronics", initiated by the permanent chairman and for many years V.Sigorsky, gathered the scientists and researchers.
Professor VP Sigorsky was awarded the Order of Red Banner of Labor, the medal "For Labor Valor", he was the winner of three awards of the Ministry of Education: for the best scientific work in 1981 and 1987 and advances in scientific and methodological work in 1998.
