Alexander Pashchenko (04.12.1929 - 29.12.1989) - doctor of technical sciences, professor, corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Sciences (02.04.1976), the winner of the state awards. In 1969 A.A. Pashchenko founded the Department of Chemical Technology of binders (now - chemical technology of composite materials), which he headed until his last days.
He was the outstanding scientist in the field of physical chemistry and technology of silicates organometallic materials, founder of fundamental scientific direction modifying materials organometallic compounds, complex processing of raw materials and energy savings in the building materials industry.
A.A. Pashchenko prepared 60 candidates and 11 doctors.
He was twice winner of the State Prize of the USSR (1981, 1988), winner of the Kiev Polytechnic Institute prize (1976). On the facade of the Chemical Building it was established his memorial board.
Pashchenko authored 677 scientific papers, including 25 monographs and 6 textbooks. He has 173 inventions. Major works are: "Silicone coating" (1969), "Waterproofing" (1973), "New cements" (1978), "General technology of silicates" (1983), "The silicone coating for protection against biological corrosion" (1988), "Reinforcement binding substances mineral fibers "(1988)," Energy-saving and non-waste technology of binders "(1990)," The Theory of cement "(1991).
