November 27 of this year would have turned 75 years since the birth of associate professor of acoustics department of NTUU "KPI" Igor Leonidovich Oboznenko - an outstanding expert in the field of acoustics. Unfortunately, for 9 years we do not have him with us.
Scientist and educator I.L. Oboznenko harmoniously inherited the talents of his ancestors - his great-grandfather, Admiral A. Elagin and his grandfather K. Smiryagin, outstanding teacher, teacher and director of the Kiev-Fundukleyev gymnasium.
His creative activity of I.L. Oboznenko began in the harsh days of 'Cold War' 60s, when he took an active part in the development of sonar systems, which Soviet Navy was armed with.
His creative activity was duly recorded in the scientific world. Member of the Russian and American Societies, member of the American Physical Society Igor Leonidovich Oboznenko adequately supported scientific traditions of the Soviet school of acoustics. The creative active of the scientist (more than 300 works) covers an extremely wide range of his scientific interests - from antenna technology and classification problems of underwater objects to medicine and space exploration.
Igor Leonidovich was a happy man, probably because scientific activity has become the meaning of his short (65 years), but beautiful life. That's what colleagues and students from previous issues told, remembering Igor Leonidovich.
Time passes with amazing speed ... Together with relatives his colleagues and numerous students, who successfully work in all corners of the globe, honored the memory of the outstanding scientist and educator.
