From the 7th to 11th of October in the NTUU “KPI” the international conference on high technologies HighMatTech-2013 was held. The conference was devoted to discussing the latest advances in the field of materials science.
It was organized by the Ukrainian Materials Research Society, Frantsevich Institute for Problems of Materials Science NAS Ukraine (Director - Academician of NAS of Ukraine V.V.Skorohod), Faculty of Physical Engineering. This conference is supported by organizations such as the Federation of European Materials Research Society (FEMS) and the European Materials Research Society (E-MRS).
The conference was attended by about 300 leading experts and scholars from 13 countries, including 75 foreign participants from Italy, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Republic of Slovakia, Algeria, the French Republic, the Republic of Turkey, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Republic of Poland, the Republic of Belarus, Russia, Georgia and Armenia.
The program of the conference included the most problematic issues of modern materials: its fundamentals; modeling of technological processes of materials and their properties; metallic materials and technologies their production and processing; highly entropic alloys; powder metallurgy; new materials based on disperse particles; nanomaterial science: Technologies and materials; the ceramics of functional and constructional purpose; high-temperature resistant materials; the latest developments in the field of polymeric materials with improved characteristics; composite materials; Surface Engineering; modern technologies of joining the materials; Equipment and methods for determining the properties of materials; scientific, organizational and commercial support of research in modern materials and so on.
Within the conference the First National Seminar School “Modern materials science: materials and technology” for students of Minor Academy of Science of Ukraine. During the week talented students from 15 regions of Ukraine listened to lectures, doing poster and multimedia presentations on their own research, participated in practical lessons on tasks solving, intellectual games, experimental studies performed in the laboratories of the Faculty of Engineering Physics of NTUU "KPI".
