The head of the Heat Engineering and Energy Saving department of the IEE Valeriy Ivanovych Deshko.
1971 he graduated Heat-and-Power department of KPI with distinction. 1979 he passed his Ph.D. defense, 1983 defended his doctoral thesis, since 1995 he is a professor. 2002 he was chosen as the head of the Heat Engineering and Energy Saving department of the IEE.
He is one of the institutors of energy management specialists training in Ukraine, member of Methodological Energy Committee of Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, member of the section “Energy and Energy Efficiency” of Coordination Board of State Agency on Science, Innovations and Informatization of Ukraine, member of Technical Committee “Energy Performance of Buildings” of Мinistry for Regional Development, Building and Housing of Ukraine, member of Scientific and Technical Council of NTUU “KPI”, member of two special Boards of Studies, member of scientific journal “Energetics: economics, technologies, ecology” editorial board etc.
Valeriy Ivanovych is also an active participant of international projects on Tacis, Tempus, Intas, Inco-Copernicus programs, including Ukrainian-Norwegian cooperation on high education for the benefit of sustainable energy development. He is one of the institutors of Nationwide Creativity Competition “The Youth for Ukrainian Energetics” and Nationwide Energy Management Student Competition, the participant of other events concerning energy saving as well.
Valeriy Ivanovych’s researches are devoted to the wide range of issues: complex heat exchange at high temperatures, energy saving and energy production and consumption efficiency improvement, designing and studying energy conversion process, hydrogen energetics, alternative sources of energy, energy audit and building certification. He is scientific projects supervisor, author of more than 230 research papers, 5 monographs, 6 study guides, including guide for foreign students and 2 guides for pupils.
