Konstantin G. Dement'ev (1864-1916) - Professor, Head of the Laboratory of minerals and technology building materials Kiev Polytechnic Institute (1903-1907), director of the Kiev Polytechnic Institute (1908-1911), secretary and dean of engineering Department (1905-1907) .
He was the founder and editor of the journal "Bulletin of Chemical Technology and Building Materials" (1910). In 1899 he graduated from the St. Petersburg Institute of Technology. In 1902, he was invited to teach at the Department of Technology of Building Materials of Kiev Polytechnic Institute. He taught technology of building materials students of engineering Department and technology of minerals - for students of chemistry Department, was head of the laboratory of these technologies. In 1906 he defended his thesis and was confirmed in the rank of associate of the Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology of construction materials, was appointed extraordinary professor of the department of technology of building materials. In 1907 he became an ordinary professor. May 31, 1908 according to the decision of the Council of the Institute he was elected the director of the Kiev Polytechnic Institute for a period of three years.
In 1911 he was transferred as the professor of higher degree in Novocherkassk Polytechnic Institute.
He was awarded the Order Sv.Stanislav III degree (1897) and St. Vladimir (1911).
He authored many scientific papers and books on the technology of building materials, among them: "Factory-chemical control of the main production of mineral chemistry" (1897), "Reducing the rate of technology minerals" (1904), "The initial rate of Chemistry" (1907), "Heat and factory furnace.
