For many years you headed the Department of Telecommunications and the Department of Telecommunication Systems of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, trained specialists in the field of telecommunications and communications. It is impossible to underappreciate your tremendous contribution to the development of our favorite Ham-Radio. Old-fashioned radio amateurs are proud to mention the distant 1960-1980 years, meetings at the Kyiv City Radio Club at our famous "sections of the KH", where you were the head of the section of short waves, a true leader and leader of all of us devoted to your favorite hobby. These meetings were long-awaited. There were so many people on them – there was no place to swing a cat. Well, there was no Internet then, but live communication was much nicer. The door was opened, a young friendly face Serhii Bunin (UB5UN) came in and a miracle began: live news about DX, latest technical advances, competitions and plans for the development of Ham-Radio. We used to listen, holding their breath, and did not depart for a long time, saddened that until the next meeting we had to wait for as long as two weeks.
Ah, don’t mind the Kyiv sections of KH! No radio-amateur conference was held in the republics of the USSR, without the participation of Serhii Bunin, where he was a desirable guest, a recognized authority in the field of communication and radio amateurism, a member of many high presidencies, editorials, communities.
