Usage of Ultra Wideband Impulse Signals in Satellite Communication and Terrestrial Long-Distance

P. 5–10.

Fig. 2. Tabl. 2. Refs.: 8 titles.

Communication We consider the feasibility and evaluate the effectiveness of implementing the impulse radio ultra wideband signals (IR-UWB) for the long-distance communication. The communication channel with the Earth artificial satellite at an altitude of 700 km serves as an example. To reduce the absorption degree, we choose the atmosphere relative “transparency” window between 70–170 GHz so that the signal spectrum is limited by this band. We obtain the values of IR-UWB signal energy characteristics and compare them with those of the long-distance radar station. Finally, we show that the impulse ultra wideband signals can be used for the satellite as well as terrestrial long-distance communication.

The detection method for atrial late potentials Based on eigenspaces Analysis of Ecg Wavelet Pattern

P. 11–18.

Fig. 7. Refs.: 7 titles.

We assume that mathematical orthogonal transformations can be applied to the problem of atrial late potentials (ALP) detection in the systems of high-resolution electrocardiography. Specifically, we propose an integrated approach to identify the low-amplitude high-frequency part of ECG with ALP using the wavelet transform to further separate it into a diagnostically important signal and noise by decomposition in the basis of eigenvectors. Crucially, we demonstrate the results of the conducted model experiment aimed at the ALP detection by employing the proposed method in the MATLAB system.

P. 24–29.

Fig. 4. Refs.: 5 titles.

The paper proposes the modified method of efficiency estimation for information transfer systems complementing the A.G. Zyuko’s well-known method. We introduce the new scale of information efficiency. In addition, we provide insights into the correct reflection of frequency, power and information efficiency indexes for the discrete and continuous transfer systems in an area, limited with the Shannon border. Moreover, we estimate the efficiency indexes at the requirements change to integrity of signal reception for different types of modulation.

Optimal Data Filtration Based on Kalman’s Algorithm for Temperature Control of the Power Generating Unit Under Considerable Industrial Noise Influence

P. 30–35.

Fig. 6. Refs.: 8 titles.

In this paper, we utilize the Kalman’s filtration algorithm for processing the real data obtained from the temperature control system. This data consists of a complex combination of various noises. We prove that the Kalman’s filter satisfies the required filtration quality. Moreover, it can continuously process the data unlike traditional and previously used methods of programmatic filtration. Therefore, our method can be used by automatic control experts for data filtration of complex combination of noises in the field of heat power engineering.

P. 70–77.

Fig. 4. Tabl. 3. Refs.: 17 titles.

This paper proposes the approach to modeling of complex information and communications systems security based on the logic-probability method. This approach relies on the component-specific division of the system’s security threats and their further integration into one complex security indicator. We also conduct the computing experiment to test the elaborated approach. The obtained results show that this approach allows simplifying the threats’ model formation as well as reducing expenditures on developing the information security system.

P. 84–89.

Fig. 2. Tabl. 1. Refs.: 7 titles.

This paper describes a novel construction of the equilibrating device with the enhanced reliability and performance, called the throttling barrier, for multistage centrifugal pumps. The application of the axial equilibration by the throttling barrier instead of the hydraulic balancing device, a bulky and unreliable unit of the axial relief of the pump spindle allows drastically increasing a net efficiency of the pump. Furthermore, we elaborate its calculation procedure and test it on a feed pump.

The specificity of laser engraving of plastic produce

P. 90–97.

Fig. 5. Refs.: 9 titles.

This paper highlights the developed techniques of the surface engraving of thermosetting and thermoplastic plastics. Thermosetting plastics are processed by the printing method with the change of surface state of the detail parts within the picture boundaries. Thermoplastic plastics are engraved by the contour method but depending on the laser radiation type a contour line can be depicted as an evaporation track or a protuberant. The latter procedure can be of practical use for engraving letters and signs on the personal computer keyboard.

Phase Transformation and Physical Properties of Nanodimensional Fe50Pt50 (30 nm) /SiO2(100 nm)/ Si(001) Film System

P. 98–102.

Fig. 7. Refs.: 5 titles.

In this paper, we study conditions of the magnetically ordered L10(FePt) phase with a face-centered tetragonal lattice in the nanodimensional Fe50Pt50 (30 nm)/SiO2(100 nm)/Si(001) film system at annealing in nitrogen. We also investigate its structure, morphology, electric and magnetic properties. On the experimental side, we show that the magnetically ordered L10(FePt) phase with rectangular grains is formed in Fe50Pt50 films after annealing at 720 K. Its formation during further annealings results in the increase of Fe50Pt50 film coercitivity up to 1000 Gs at the saturation magnetization of about 945 ems/cm2. The direction change of the applied magnetic field doesn’t cause any essential changes in the hysteresis loop form due to its isotropy.

Structure, Physical and Chemical Properties of Natural and Reinforced Graphites

P. 141–146.

Fig. 3. Tabl. 3. Refs.: 6 titles.

We determine physical and chemical properties of materials tested as well as energy state of their surface. The results of complex physical and chemical analysis (infra-red-spectroscopy and derivatography) show that there are structural connections (С = С, Si–O–Si, С–Н) and functional groups (OН, С = О) in natural and reinforced graphite. Through the experiments conducted, we uncover the structural specificity of natural and reinforced graphites based on natural ones. Finally, our study suggests that there are substantial differences in the structure of natural and reinforced graphites that greatly influences their electro-physical properties, notably their specific electrical resistance.

The Influence of Caesium Compounds on the Properties of the Low-Temperature Catalyst of Carbon Monoxide Converstion. Caesium Formiate Promotion

P. 147–151.

Fig. 1. Tabl. 2. Refs.: 11 titles.

This paper studies the influence of promoting admixtures of the Cs formiate on the catalyst activity, selectivity, stability, crystal structure and morphology of Cu-Zn-Al catalyst of low-temperature CO conversion. We test two methods of introducing the promoter, notably into the calcinated as well as into the carbonate catalyst mass. On the experimental side, we determine that Cs introduction in the amount of 1 % allows reducing the catalyst activity in a side reaction of methanol formation by 2–2,5 times. The Cs introduction into the carbonate mass yields better results than into the calcinated one. Since it results in reducing the formation of by-product methanol and gives a less negative action on the activity, thermostability, crystallinity, specific total surface and copper surface of the catalyst.

Research into Anticorrosion efficiency of vegetable extracts

P. 152–156.

Fig. 2. Tabl. 1. Refs.: 7 titles.

This study suggests the anticorrosion protection of extracts of various types of vegetable resources. It is a promising source for developing nontoxic corrosion inhibitors, including volatile ones. We show that compositions of volatile corrosion inhibitors based on the aliphatic amine, heterocyclic nitrogen containing сompounds, isopropanol vegetable extracts at their application both from a gas phase as well as by a pin method demonstrate better protective properties than the known nitrite of dicyclohexylamine. They also provide the anticorrosion protection of carbon steel under the conditions of periodic condensation of moisture. Crucially, the proposed compositions based on vegetable extracts are effective both in the initial and last stages of corrosion tests.
